Owner, Bethany Bender

Bethany is the third generation of upholsterers in her family, keeping alive a tradition of mindful craftsmanship.  Raised in a small Amish and Mennonite community in eastern Iowa, she grew up with people who did things with their hands and took the time to do them right.  She maintains the continuity of the family business while bringing her own contemporary sense of design and style to a tradition of quality and care.

We take pride in reclaiming quality pieces of furniture otherwise destined for the landfill and give these pieces new life through light woodwork repair and full reupholstery.  Good Bones strives to incorporate repurposed and recycled materials as much as possible and to maintain a sustainable small business.
